Having worked in production for eleven years, Amanda moved into television writing in 2016 with a CBeebies Writers Room Residential, working on the further development of BBC programmes including Furchester and Go Jetters. Since then she has written twelve scripts for children’s television including flagship BBC shows Justin’s House and Swashbuckle, and will be leading the scriptwriting for a new Youtube animation and gaming project on behalf of a London-based creative agency. Her original scripts have been longlisted and shortlisted for BBC Writers Room Comedy Script Competition and the Class Dismissed Sketch Competition.

Amanda is currently working on two new pilot scripts - an 30-minute comedy about a mother and son on the Autism spectrum, and a 60-minute dramedy about an amicable divorce.  She is also  writing five follow-up scripts for a completed short-form comedy pilot about a woman who lives off the grid in her luxury London flat.

Amanda has written jokes for a Confused.com national campaign, resource excerpts for Comic Relief, satirical website Reductress, and mindfulness websites Elephant Journal and Tiny Buddha. She also enjoys performing, having done three years of standup comedy, sketches on NBC, the Funny Women Stage Awards 2016, and the BBC World Service. She has a BA in English and American Literature from the University of Manchester, an MA from The University of Liverpool, and a postgraduate diploma from Oxford University.

She is currently one of Edinburgh Television Festival’s Ones to Watch 2018.
