Biography: Asher graduated from Cardiff University in 2007 with a First in Journalism, Film & Media, going on to win a place on the TVYP (The Network) talent scheme at Edinburgh International Television Festival 2007.

He worked as a Creative/Promo Producer at Virgin Media Television, from 2007-11, where he wrote, directed and produced on-air campaigns for a wide variety of programmes across a broad range of channels, including Living, Bravo, Challenge and Trouble. After this he worked as a Freelance Creative at ITV (2012/13), producing promos for ITV, ITV2 and ITV Player. Asher was identified as a Fast Track “One to Watch” in the television industry, 2011.

His professional writing career began with the award of a place on the BBC CASUALTY Shadow Writers' Scheme 2012-13, during which he wrote a successful trial script for the show, before gaining a full commission in 2014. His CASUALTY iPlayer/Red Button special episode aired November 2013, and was subsequently shortlisted for a 2014 Mind Media Award. After writing just one episode, Asher was invited to join CASUALTY’s core writing team for series 29/30.

His original drama THE CHURCH was a finalist in the Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award 2013 and a Top Finalist (Original TV Drama) in the Creative World Awards 2013.
