AgentJuliet Pickering

Biography: Dima Alzayat was born in Damascus, Syria, grew up in San Jose, California, and now lives in Manchester. She teaches creative writing at Lancaster University and is completing a PhD on Arab American fiction.

Her short stories have been published in the Bristol Short Story Award AnthologyPrairie SchoonerEnizagam and the Bridport Prize Anthology. Her articles have appeared in the Los Angeles TimesFlauntThe Skinny and Variety.

She was the winner of the 2017 Bristol Short Story Prize and was highly commended in the Deborah Rogers Writers’ Award 2018. She is currently working on a collection of short stories.
