Biography: Francesca wrote and directed the highly-acclaimed feature film TOMORROW LA SCALA! Her second film FOUR LAST SONGS, starred Stanley Tucci, Hugh Bonneville and Rhys Ifans.  She directed LEARNERS, starring David Tennant, which she co-wrote with Jessica Stevenson.  

Her TV director credits include MISTRESSES, and she is a returning director on EASTENDERS. 

Francesca has directed many theatre productions of both classical and  contemporary work for The Royal Court, The Royal National Theatre Studio, The Gate, The Bush , Soho Theatre Company, Salisbury Playhouse, Glasgow Tron, Liverpool Playhouse.

In the opera Francesca has directed productions for English National Opera - Don Giovanni, Madame Butterfly (revivals), ENO Bayliss Programme - The Marriage of Figaro,  Pimlico Opera - Le Nozze Di Figaro, The Bear, Ashcroft Theatre - La Traviata,  contemporary opera for ENO's Contemporary Opera Studio, and Sondheims Sweeney Todd at HMP Wormwood Scrubbs. 

Francesca has been assistant director to Richard Eyre at RNT, and at ENO to David Pountney, Graham Vick, David Alden, Richard Jones, and Jonathon Miller.  She has worked as a script advisor to the Royal Court and Royal National Theatre.
