Praise for Jon’s novels:
‘A genuinely original book which takes on the large and important themes of American fundamentalism and American business culture – and still manages to be funny… A bold and inventive novel which made me laugh out loud.’
Martyn Harris, Daily Telegraph
‘Hugely Entertaining… an excess of imagination.’
‘It would not be too great a compliment to say that there are resonances of Updike in Fink’s flashes of understated humour.’
Harry Mount, Sunday Telegraph
IF HE LIVED
‘Elegaic, heartbreaking… beautifully done.’
‘A fine novel… Fink is a clever, subtle writer who examines the phenomenon of extra-sensory perception with intelligence, creating the necessary frission of doubt in the reader’s mind. Like the best ghost stories, modern or otherwise, this one poses questions not only about death and afterlife but also about life on terra firma.’
Brian McCabe, Scotsman
‘Brave and sensitive… powerful’
Erica Wagner, The Times
‘Further Adventures is one of the most appealing novels around.’
‘Fink has a fine ear for dialogue and strong comic timing.’
‘Breathtaking in its juxtaposition of wisecracks and tragedy, with a veritable Don Quixote running loose in the American Southwest: a distinctive debut.’
