Agent: Tom Witcomb

Biography: Royd was born in Rochester, Kent and moved to Wales aged three. His great-grandfather, J.R.R Tolkien, died when he was young, but he inherited his love of storytelling and entertainment.

He enjoyed an early career in the music industry managing bands and putting on club nights and live music, and also has a background in PR and marketing. His experiences on set with The Lord of the Rings inspired him and planted a seed to become a producer. He went on to produce two films and was developing two more when in 2012 his younger brother, Mike, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He put everything on hold to care for his brother. On January 28th 2015, Mike passed away. He is now returning to producing with a documentary titled, ‘There’s a Hole in my Bucket’ and is working on the proposal for a book which tells his and Mike’s story.
