Biography: Ben Paynter is a British-Australian screenwriter and author who has lived in the UK, Germany and Australia. He has been a resident writer on the Canneseries (2020) and Eureka Series (2021) programmes and was also selected for Serial Eyes (2021). Ben has collaborated extensively with writers, directors and producers from around the world. His short-form scripts and films have been selected by major international festivals and competitions.

His original Comedy Spy Thriller series FRIENDLY RELATIONS is currently in development with Warner Bros Germany and his Dark Comedy feature film GRETA is in development with Milan Film AG.

With a background in literature (MA Prose Writing, University of Manchester Centre for New Writing) and bookselling, Ben also has a keen interest in books and adaptations.

Ben is a fluent German speaker and is based in London.
