Biography: Ali is a yachting, outdoor and travel journalist, and has written for a number of brands, including BBC Wildlife, Countryfile, Woman & Home and Radio Times. She’s worked as a publisher in the women’s and craft sectors, edited the UK’s biggest-selling boating magazine, and launched her own regional entertainment magazines.

Travel and watersports are her passion. As a child she raced dinghies with her parents and went on to cruise the North Wales coast with her dad in a 100-year-old wooden shrimper.

She loves house-swapping with families across Europe. Now based in Dorset, she enjoys football, squash, sea swimming and sailing with her three children.
