Biography: Jonny is a Film and TV scriptwriter based in the north east of England. A former acquisitions manager at a Hollywood-based production and distribution company, Jonny draws on his experience as a substance misuse support worker and national safeguarding lead. These roles have developed his interest in character-driven stories in all genres, and in sharp, naturalistic dialogue. He is working on a range of original projects, including INK (TV) and a new horror feature film IN DEATH SHE WAITS which was recently developed in association with Northern Ireland Screen.

His horror feature THE DARE (Millennium Films, Lionsgate) premiered at Popcorn Frights Film Festival in Miami and won the Audience Choice Award. Starring Richard Brake (THE MANDALORIAN) and Bart Edwards (THE WITCHER), THE DARE was directed by Giles Alderson and was released worldwide (and by Lionsgate on DVD in the UK). Jonny’s second film ARTHUR AND MERLIN: KNIGHTS OF CAMELOT was released in the US and the UK by Film Mode and Signature Entertainment.

His latest horror feature, SAMODIVA, was produced by Film Forge with a 2027 planned release date. SAMODIVA is currently in post-production at Nu Boyana Film Studios.

Outside of scriptwriting, Jonny is also the lyricist and frontman of metallic post-hardcore band motions.
